Things you should know about spoken words
Words have the power to change lives and to change the
world as a whole. And although most people believe actions speak louder, words
should never be taken lightly.
Taking our mind back to the story of creation, we all know that God created the
world by speaking it into existence. In other words, the world was framed with
the Word of God. He created the visible world out of nothing. What God speaks
comes to pass. Over and over in Genesis 1, we see the words, "And God
said..." and so whatever God said became reality.
However, going by human
perspective, words are singularly the most powerful force available to
humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of
encouragement, or destructively using words of despair.
Words have a more lasting and profound effect on the
world than a random act of violence. We live in fear of terrorist acts, mass
shootings, and armed crime, but we should care more about who is saying the
words that are triggering the violence.
Words have energy and power with
the ability to help, heal, hinder, hurt, harm, humiliate and to humble.
Considering the 'powerful force' of the words we utter, we must discipline
ourselves to speak in a way that conveys respect, gentleness and humility.
Be kind to all and speak words that
are beacons of inspiration, enthusiasm and encouragement to all. On the
contrary, kind and sweet words are always music to the ears of the listeners.
When we speak, we should speak
with mindfulness, in a way that solidify peace and compassion in our characters.
Remember that not only do our
words matter, but also the tone which we use has a huge impact.
