How to Understand Your Niche

You need to have content.
I have been interviewed lots of times impromptu.

Philip AsuQuotes Asuquo gave the above remark in one of his post on Facebook after we both attended a seminar at Unilag where he was one of the resource persons. And yes I witnessed him answering questions with details in an impromptu interview.

So this is it; recently at Digital Suit complex situated in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, I met three young men whom we got go exchange contacts after a long discussion.

You wanna know what transpired?

Sit tight I'm gonna gist you in summary!

I stepped in and asked after Mr Philip one of the partners to a Project Management Company that called for an interview recently. So I was told he wasn't on sit yet. I grabbed a chair, sat majestically, fondling with my phone while waiting for his arrival.

Meanwhile, a group of people were already seated, waiting to be interviewed.

Long story short!

Syx2s, average in height and dark in collection asked; "Are you here for the interview"? No! I am waiting for someone. I replied! He went on, "so what do you do"? I quickly told him I am a social media specialist (influencer). I couldn't wait for him to ask further since I sensed his next question I had to take my time to explain to him what my job entails since I wasn't in a hurry.

While talking to him I remembered the words of Steve Harris at the 2016 World Changers Conference hosted in Uyo.

Affirmatively, requesting for my contact he said; "I like you, I love how real you are, it proves that you know and understand your niche". And after we were done negotiating, he booked an appointment for us to meet some other time.

On finishing with Syx2s, the next dude who sat beside me whispered; "so you said you're a social media influencer? Someone in one of the radio stations is looking for people like you". Oh really? I responded! (Trust me, that got me grinning).
So, he requested for my contact and that was it!

The very last but not the least was a curious yet skeptical maths teacher who was also there for the interview. (Trust teachers with their technical questions). He asked technically, I answered technically and my response got him laughing real hard.

On discovering that I am a blogger, he wanted to know what it takes to create, run a blog and other detailed information attached. I was kind to letting him know what he intended knowing. As if he wasn't satisfied, he asked for my number, I smiled as I called it out.

Oh! Less I forget, he was ready to start blogging using his Java phone.

If there's one thing I derive pleasure in doing many a times is to be sarcastic. But this time, I noticed I wasn't...

When they all asked me about what they needed to know (though individually) I gave them explanations beyond their expectation and with instances.
Oh by the way, what kept me going was the confident I had in me and the believe that I could get the done even more than expected.

Sadly, I have had friends say "I wasn't prepared"; some would say: "oh, I should've been informed earlier so I can prepare for it". And others say; "it is so urgent/impromptu"...

Truth is, some life's occasion picks us unawares.

Steve HARRIS once said if you don't prepare (practice) for your opportunity you may likely run from it..

When I left home I never knew I was gonna meet people I'll have to attend to, with so much detailed information but I delivered my presentation amicably well and trust me, it was lit and remarkable.

Bottom line is; be a content carrier. Always be fully prepared anytime, any day, any moment; having at the back of your mind that you could be called upon without prior notice.
