[VIDEO]: Why Dbanj is still relevant in the Nigerian Music Industry

Do you remember that point in time when the general anthem was "what is the koko?". If you don't remember, you were probably born in 2015, you should go to school and not be here.

"What is the koko?" was a slang made popular by Dbanj, in his song, Tongolo, which was released in 2006 by Mo Hits Record. Mo Hits Record was a Nigerian musical crew that comprised of members such as music producer Don Jazzy, singers Dbanj, Dr, Sid, Wande Coal, D'Prince and KaySwitch.

Ever since Mo Hits crew split in 2012, a lot of people have questioned the relevance of Dbanj in the music industry. So many people predicted that he would fade off since Don Jazzy was no longer his producer, however, he really hasn't! In fact, his popularity has kind of increased.

D'banj is still relevant in the music industry today because of the niche he has carved for himself as a Nigerian entertainer. He has that massive appeal that can keep your stage and event on a lockdown.

Even with the entrants of the new young musicians, D'banj is still accorded with so much respect in the industry. He has also dropped nice hits since leaving Mo Hits, for example, Confidential, Emergency, Its Not A Lie. Whether you are a fan or not, be rest assured that his musical career is still nowhere close to an end.
