The Nigerian Entertainment Industry however has so far been one of the sources of economic growth in the country, and has also given Nigerians the platform to excel.

Undoubtedly, the phase of the sector today has made almost all Nigerian youths opt for the entertainment industry, which is why I assemble these few tips on how to carve a niche and remain relevant.

HERE ARE 16 PROVEN WAYS TO CARVE A NICHE IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY

1. Conceive an idea in your mind. Get a peculiar idea, let it be original and it should be in response to the contemporary needs in the society.

2. Do not discuss it with anyone unless you have signed confidentiality or non disclosure agreement with the person, because if you do, what you have in your mind is at a risk of being stolen by someone else.

3. Put the ideas conceived into writing, try as much as possible to make it detailed.

4. Put what you you have written to execution, because an idea in your head is useless until you have taken practical steps to utilize it.
5. Meet a lawyer, an intellectual property lawyer, discuss what you have with the person, and don't worry, they will take it up from there.

6. Set up a legal structure so that whatever you are into, has separate legal personality from you.

7. Then going into entertainment, you really have to be smart and creative as well, is it in the manner you speak, dress, talk, act, etc.

Be ready to explore, be unique and try to build your personality.

9. Get a formal training especially in the area you want to specialize in, so that you will be exposed to the things related to your area of specialization.

9. Open a social media account, be active, post and updates things you know will attract the attention of people to you. It should be relevant and should be able to send a message across.

10. Think of shows, let it not be any kind of regular shows, have a targeted audience and your shows should be able to impact.

11. Partner with a celebrity; someone that is already in the industry, reason being that the person is popular and he/she is likely to attract attention to you.

12. In your shows, invite important people to come as guests, let it be well organized..keep to time..let everything just be in place and on point.  Make provisions for raffle draws - give out gifts etc

13. Be very consistent with whatever you're doing, the results may not come immediately but when it comes, it will be bigger than what you can imagine. 

14. What ever you do, let it be full of impact.

15. Be humble, be willing and ready to take corrections and improve, don't see critics as enemies.

16. Explore and learn new things every day.
